I don't know if there is anything cuter than a plump kitty.
This pattern is based on my own Siamese mixie.
What you need:
2 colors of worsted weight acrylic yarn
(I used Red Heart Super Saver)
in dark brown and cream
Size 7 (4.5 mm) hook
1 pair of safety eyes
1 safety nose
Polyester stuffing
Clip to keep place
Scissors
Yarn needle
This little guy is not very hard at all.
He just takes a little while to make because of multiple parts.
Head:
Work in continuous rounds
- Chain 2
- Round 1: Work 6 sc in first chain
- Round 2: Work 2 sc in each sc around - 12 st
- Round 3: *2 sc in next st, sc in next st, rep from * around - 18 st
- Round 4: *2 sc in next st, sc in each of next 2 sts, rep from * around - 24 st
- Set nose in center hole
- Round 5-10: Sc in each sc around
- Set eyes
- Round 11: *Sc2tog, sc in each of next 2 sts, rep from * around - 18 st
- Round 12: *Sc2tog, sc in next st, rep from * around - 12 st
- Stuff firmly
- Round 13: Sc2tog around -6 st
- Sew up end
Ears:
Work in continuous rounds
Make 2 in dark brown
- Chain 2
- Round 1: Work 6 sc in first chain
- Round 2: Work 2 sc in each sc around - 12 st
- Round 3: *2 sc in next st, sc in next st, rep from * around - 18 st
- Round 4: sc
Arms:
Work in continuous rounds
Make 2 in dark brown
- Chain 2
- Round 1: Work 6 sc in first chain
- Round 2: Work 2 sc in each sc around - 12 st
- Round 3: *2 sc in next st, sc in next st, rep from * around - 18 st
- Round 4-6: sc
Tail:
Your tail can be any shape or size.
I crocheted a piece 6 sts wide and 16 rows long.
Then I sewed the piece together into a tail shape.
Legs:
Work in continuous rounds
Make 2 using dark brown
- Chain 2
- Round 1: Work 6 sc in first chain
- Round 2: Work 2 sc in each sc around - 12 st
- Round 3: sc
- Round 4: *2 sc in next st, sc in next st, rep from * around - 18 st
- Round 5-6: sc
Body:
Join legs
Work in continuous rounds
- Sl st cream into a stitch on one leg
- sc 9 (first pic)
- move to next leg and sc into a st on it (second pic)
- sc around the second leg till you get to the next to last st
- sc back to first leg (third pic) *note there will be a small gap to sew up*
- sc back to first st
- Round 1-6: sc -36 st
- Round 7: *Sc2tog, each of next 3 sts, rep from * around - 30 st
- Round 8: *Sc2tog, each of next 2 sts, rep from * around - 24 st
- Round 9: *Sc2tog, each of next 1 sts, rep from * around - 18 st
- Round 10: *Sc2tog, sc in next st, rep from * around - 12 st
- Round 11-12: sc
- Leave top open, cut long tail of yarn to sew on head
Assembly:
Sew head to body. There is no need to stuff ears or arms.
Position and sew on ears, arms, and tail.
Sew up gap between legs.
Tie a cute bow around it's neck and it is ready to bring joy to any cat lover.
