Hot Pepper

An extra special touch to any crocheted food collection.


What you need:
Worsted weight acrylic yarn
in red and green
Size 7 (4.5mm) hook
Polyester fiber fill
Yarn needle
Clip to keep place
Scissors


Pepper:
Work in continuous rounds


  • Chain 2
  • Round 1: Work 6 sc in first chain
  • Round 2-3: sc in each sc around -6 st
  • Round 4: *2 sc in next st, sc in next st, rep from * around - 9 st
  • Round 5-9: sc in each sc around -9 st
  • Round 10: 2 sc in each sc around -18 st
  • Round 11-13: sc in each sc around - 18 st
  • Round 14: *Sc2tog, sc in next st, rep from * around - 12 st
  • Stuff firmly
  • Round 15: Sc2tog around -6 st
  • Sew up end and weave in end
 Top:

Chain 3, *dc in first chain, sl st in same chain, ch 2 
Repeat from * till you have 4 scallops, ending with sl
cut tail for sewing.

Run the tail from the beginning up through hole to create stem, use end tail to sew to top of pepper.


Be sure to shape pepper for more realistic look.
Make in any color, these could easily pass for many
types of chilies.
