Octopus Cowl

Put on your favorite geeky shirt and get ready to geek out.
I really want to make one in muddy green as a gift for a Cthulhu lovin' friend.


What you need:
 100-125 yards of 4 weight yarn 
(I used red wool today because I was thinking about Zoidberg)
K (6.5 mm hook)
Scissors
Yarn needle
Two 7/8 inch buttons
Sewing thread/needle

sc-single crochet, hdc-half double crochet, blo-back loops only


Cowl:

Chain 16
sc across chain -15 st
work 7 rows of sc blo 
*chain 10, hdc 3 in each chain
sc blo 6 rows
chain 15, hdc 3 in each chain
sc blo 6 rows

Repeat till from * till you have 8 curly tentacles
After last tentacle omit sc blo 6 rows- start on finishing rows
Finishing row 1: sc  
Finishing row 2: sc 3, chain 2, skip two stitches, sc 5, chain 2 skip 2 stitches, sc 3
Finishing row 3: sc 3, sc 2 in chain space, sc 5, sc 2 in chain space, sc 3
Finishing row 4: sc

Finish off and weave in ends


Place and sew on buttons
Make sure they line up with your button holes.
