Chakra Hat

With the help of Pinterest and Snow White cosplayers I have a super cute new hair style. (No really, I showed the stylist pics of Snow White cosplayers when she asked how I wanted my hair) The shorter cut lets my naturally curly hair shine. Oh, and I really look cute in hats now so...

What you need:

Size 4 (medium) yarn
Size J (6 mm) hook
Size 7 (4.5 mm) hook
Scissors
Needle

My suggested synthetic yarns are: Hobby Lobby I Love This Yarn, Bernat Mosaic, and Vanna's Choice.

This hat would look great in a soft and drapy wool but so many of my friends and family are allergic to wool and other soft natural fibers I have to use synthetic.

This pattern look familiar? It is a reboot of my Mehndi Snood from a few months ago.

Chakra Hat:

  • Row 1: With J hook- 24 dc in a magic loop, pull loop tight and sl st to first dc to close round
  • Row 2-6: Work steps 2-6 of Mehndi Snood.
  • Row 7-12: Chain 3, dc around, st to join
  • Row 13: Chain 1, sc around, sl st to join
  • Row 14: Switch to 7 hook chain 1, sc around, sl st to join
  • Row 15: chain 1, *sc 10, sc2tog, repeat from * around, after last decrease sc remainder of stitches
  • Row 16: chain 1, sc around, sl st to join
  • Finish off and weave in ends
In I Love This Yarn

In Bernat Mosiac
This is such fun yarn, each one looks different, I am  working on one now that has a green middle
(See why I am calling this hat chakra?)

In Vanna's Choice

I also made one in Red Heart Tweed. I found  Red Heart yarn was a little stiff. If you plan to make  a hat out of it wash it several times before wearing.
