Lipstick Case Recipe

One of my favorite little things are lipstick cases, they give everyday life a little bit of glam.
While there are many lip balm cozy patterns out there I wanted an old fashioned case.

What you need:
Size 3 crochet thread
2.25 mm hook
Sew on snap (optional)
Needle
Scissors

Case:

Chain 3 inches + 1 stitch to turn
work sc rows till piece is 3.75 inches long
Work scalloped edge of: *sc, sk2, dc5 (in one stitch), sk2
Finish off and weave in ends.

Ends:
(make 2)

12 dc in a magic loop, pull loop tight and sl st to first dc to close round
chain 1, 2 sc in each dc around, sl st closed
Break yarn leaving a long tail to use for sewing

Thread tail from end and whip stitch to side of case piece, sewing just over half way around the end circle. Fold over top of end and stitch down across the top. Repeat process on other end making sure to line up both ends so they are even. (I had to go back and resew one end since it was uneven) Weave in ends.

Join crochet thread at the bottom of the flap, working along right side of case sc to the other side.
If desired sew on snap. I meant to do it before taking pictures but I misplaced my snaps and I have to go hunt for them.

A girl always needs her lipstick. Ain't I cute?
