Summer Mermaid Dolly

This summer has already been filled with friends, sun, and waves and I am only looking forward to more of it. I constructed a childhood dream, a swim-able mermaid tail and I'm building my core strength swimming with it. I just modded it to have swim fins so I hope to take it out soon to get good photos, I'll be sure to share with you all. I've wanted to design some sort of mermaid pattern for here on the site for a long time, this week I finally sat down and hooked a lovely little mermaid doll.

 

Airy Summer Sling

The Airy Summer Hobo is one of my all time favorite patterns on the site. I use my bags at least once a week but they are really starting to show wear, not the crochet part, the yarn actually gave out. No surprise though, I walk to get groceries and load everything into them to carry home (it can get kind of heavy when I walk home with milk and juice). I've repaired several but I bought some cotton yarn and have been making several new ones. 

The Airy Summer Hobo is one of the most popular patterns on the site but the number one complaint is that people have a hard time handling the large 10mm hook. For any of you that have gotten hand cramps from the large hook this new pattern is for you, the Airy Summer Sling pattern is a smaller modified version of the Hobo but crocheted with a J hook.

I Believe in Dragons

This past weekend I got to go to a medieval faire. Check out my photos here. It was cold and windy so shawls and cloaks were the fashion of the day. I was inspired to create my very first crocheted shawl design. The gentle points remind me of dragon wings.
