Green onions/scallions/spring onions are all great for cooking so why not add one to your crocheted play food pantry.

What you need:

Spring Onion

  • Row 25: chain 1, sc, sc2tog, sc 1, turn
  • Row 26: chain 1, sc2tog, sc 1
  • Finish off and leave long tail for sewing

Fold the row portion in half so the edges meet each other and whip stitch down to the start of the rounds to create a leaf. Weave in ends.

Leaf two:

  • Chain 5, sc 4, turn
  • Rows 2-3: chain 1, sc 4, turn
  • Row 4: chain 1, sc, sc2tog, sc 1, turn
  • Row 5: chain 1, sc2tog, sc 1
  • Finish off and leave long tail for sewing
Fold leaf in half just like the last and whip stitch the edges together then attach at the bottom of the first leaf. Weave in ends.

Back to the bulb. Fray each of the strands of yarn fully then trim to about an inch long.
