The past few mornings have been in the 70s, in Florida this is when we pretend it is Fall. The cooler mornings are making me excited to pull out my newly acquired vintage Schwinn road bike.
It has been awhile since I have made up a pattern but the idea of a unisex cowl that would be great for biking popped into my head yesterday. I sat down with some lovely earth toned yarn and this flew from my hook.
What you need:
Vanna's Choice Yarn 2-3 balls
Size L (8.mm) hook
Yarn needle
Scissors
ch=chain sc= single crochet dc=double crochet hdc= half double crochet sk=skip stitch st,sts= stitch/stitches ch sp= chain space
Bicycling Cowl:
A fun chunky cowl that would make a great gift for a chick or a dude.
I used Vanna's Choice because it is soft and has a nice drape.
Chain 170, sl st to first chain to make a loop being careful to not twist your chain
- Row 1: Chain 3, dc around, sl st to join row
- Row 2: Chain 3 (this counts as hdc chain 1), sk 1 st, *hdc 1, chain 1 sk 1 st around, sl st to join
- Row 3: Chain 3, dc in each hdc and ch sp around, sl st to join

Finished cowl is about 6 inches across and 76 inches long
