Watercress Tea Sandwiches

Tea sandwiches, one of the most unnecessary but appealing things ever. My mom and I used to make tea sandwiches for my tea parties, we would take our vintage cookie cutters and make little heart and stars filled with egg salad or jams. My niece will be living too far away for me to do this with her, but you never know what the future will hold.
Over the next few days I will be posting several tea sandwiches perfect for make believe.

What you need:

Scrap balls of worsted weight yarn, bread and watercress
Size F (3.75mm hook)
Scissors
Sewing Pins
Yarn Needle

Bread:

With bread colored yarn chain 16
Work 15 rows of sc (15 st)
Break yarn and weave in ends

 Watercress:

With green chain 18
work 8 sc, 3 sc in one stitch, 8 sc
(You will have a nice V, it is just like a ripple blanket)
Chain 1 turn, sc 1, 3 sc in each of the next 7 st, 1 sc in the next 3 st, 3 sc in each of the next 7 st, sc 1
Break yarn and weave in ends

Fold bread in half and pin the center of the watercress (the 3 single sc at the top of te V) between the top corners of the point of the sandwich. Pin to secure watercress in place. With bread color sew through all layers. Tie off and weave in ends.
