Wibbly Wobbly Juggling Balls

My niece and nephew are finally mature enough to learn how to juggle, this year for Christmas they will be getting juggling sticks and balls. Along with the new goodies they will be getting juggling lessons from my husband and myself.

Inside pics only, it's cold outside :)

Gear it Up

This weekend I went to a steampunk convention. I was a little nervous because I didn't have a themed costume but I pulled out an Victorian Gothic dress, a mini top hat, corset and hoped for the best. I worry too much, everyone at the con was super sweet and friendly and loved my get up (especially my coffin purse). I'm still waiting for some of the great shots from the con, I will be sure to share a few when I get them.

Anyway... back to crochet.
The lovely little gears would be beautiful as embellishments on costumes or starch them to make lovely steampunk Christmas ornaments.

Tea Bag Cosy

I am a tea drinker, (think Ramona Flowers from Scott Pilgrim) lots and lots of tea, all sorts. Although I prefer loose tea, when I travel I take along a few prepackaged bags.
Make the tea bag in any color (try the color of your favorite tea). Stuff lightly then whip stitch closed and it can be an amigurumi rather than a tea bag cosy.

Affinity Infinity

I had never been one for infinity scarves until recently, now I am obsessed. This scarf was patterned after one on a clothing site I love.
This sucker is BIG and could go even larger if you want.
Mine is about 80 inches around and 9.5 inches wide.

Darling Devil

Halloween is right around the corner and if you are like me and still piecing together a costume you may like this project.

Eye Balls

Just in time for the Halloween season, why not make some eye balls? Stuff them with fluff for a soft toy or fill them with plastic beads for juggling or hacky sack.

Bunny Blank

By now you should know I love rabbits. I am owned by two rabbits, a holland lop and a lionhead. Even my friends call me Bunny.
I created this bunny to go along with a set I am making for my sister-in-law and my soon to be niece or nephew. The baby isn't due till early next year but I like to have things done ahead of time.

Little Lion

RAWR!
I'm a lion

My husband has been wanting to dress Weezer up like a lion forever. I finally got around to making a costume.

Chakra Hat

With the help of Pinterest and Snow White cosplayers I have a super cute new hair style. (No really, I showed the stylist pics of Snow White cosplayers when she asked how I wanted my hair) The shorter cut lets my naturally curly hair shine. Oh, and I really look cute in hats now so...

Bicycling Cowl

The past few mornings have been in the 70s, in Florida this is when we pretend it is Fall. The cooler mornings are making me excited to pull out my newly acquired vintage Schwinn road bike.
It has been awhile since I have made up a pattern but the idea of a unisex cowl that would be great for biking popped into my  head yesterday. I sat down with some lovely earth toned yarn and this flew from my hook.

National Lazy Day

Did you know yesterday was national lazy day? Did you celebrate by being lazy? Although I did a photo shoot in the morning our afternoon was spent at a local pub for LEBOWSKiFEST. Much Dudeness, drinking, costumes, and trivia was had.

Although I did not win the costume contest (and the free bar tab) I did haven't have too high a tab since I got a discount for wearing a costume, and my friends the bar tenders both thought I should have won.

Summer Fashions

Summer is upon us and that means lightweight, flowy, or open weave clothes. I have been taking some time off to make myself some fun summer styles.

Let me share my favorite patterns so far

I want to ride my bicycle

"You have to do stuff that average people don't understand because those are the only good things."
 -Andy Warhol

With national yarn bomb day coming up in June I did something special to celebrate, I yarn bombed my bike.

Technicolor Dream Coat

I'm still super busy with family but I go crazy without crochet so I have been slipping in some here and there.

Derby Hat

Oh man, I knew this month was going to be busy but I didn't know how busy. My poor little mind is doing back-flips and because of this it just hasn't been up to full creative power.

I did manage to find time to finish my hat for a Kentucky Derby party.

Sunny

It's bright a sunny here and hovering in the mid to high eighties. (Sorry to rub this in Omaha) This lovely weather has made me train harder than normal. 5k is just not enough to suck in springtime so I have been doing up to 10k. My soul has been happy but my feet have not. I had to take a break to heal.
Anyway, I made some suns. This are a little bigger than your palm and would make a cute accent on a fridge or a silly hat.

Wedding Potholders

It's spring time and that means wedding time. This time the happy bride loves cookbooks and cooking. We bought her some baking items from her registry and we are going to embellish the gift with a lovely cookbook and a stack of handmade potholders.

I'm finally back! I bet you all thought I drowned in my yarn box.

Well, I'm back and I have a BA octo for you. (BAO- Big Ass Octopus, the nick name while working on it stuck)

Loonette

I'm a puppeteer. Or, I was most of my life. I always have fun watching children's shows with puppets. One show I used to watch was The Big Comfy Couch. Loonette the clown had an amazing hat, I have always wanted one. Last night I was in a quirky mood so I sat down and crocheted one.

Sugar Pie Scoodie Recipe

The sun came out! The storms have passed us by early, I'm so excited. I guess I don't have to chew off my arm from boredom anymore ;) Plus, the rain passing will bring us cool weather to replace it.

This sweet scoodie (hooded scarf) recipe is highly customizable. The one shown is going to a tween-ager so it is a little smaller than one you would make for yourself but no worries, it is super easy to adjust in size.

I have garbanzos that are burning a hole in my pantry wanting to be made into a beautiful falafel.

Dress-able Crochet Dolly

A dress-able peg doll in crochet form. Multiple skirts work up in no time so make a big pile for play time. Finished doll is 7-7.5 inches tall.

Mini Bow

Just a quick post while I wait for the horrible storms to hit.
These bows are just a fuller version of a classic crocheted bow.

What's Up

I've been a little busy around here and I realized I hadn't shown you the reason why.

Crooked Neck Squash

I love squash. It was heart breaking when pests destroyed my hanging squash garden last year, I had looked forward to gorging myself on beautiful fresh squash this season.

Octopus Cowl

Put on your favorite geeky shirt and get ready to geek out.
I really want to make one in muddy green as a gift for a Cthulhu lovin' friend.

Doll Ear Flap Hat 3 ways

A cute ear flap styled hat with 3 variations.
Gauge is 4 stitches per inch; I kept it tight so it would keep out the cold.

Frilly Sweater Dress

My niece got a American Girl doll for Christmas which got me very excited. My mom and I both love dolls and making doll clothes. I rushed over to my parent's house and picked up my AG doll and got to work.

I dub this month 18 inch doll month. Look forward to lots of little patterns.

Faded Rainbow Tablet Case

Happy new year everyone! I hope you all had a fun, yet safe holiday.
To start the new year off I have a little recipe for you.
