Veggie Corn Dog

Corn dogs are probably my most desired bad for you food. I could eat my fill in them, good thing most places don't have veggie dog versions otherwise I would.


What you need:

Scrap yarn in light and dark gold, veggie dog color, and tan
Size F (3.75mm) hook
Polyester fiberfill
Scissors
Yarn needle
Plastic cotton swab

Veggie Dog:
Work in continuous rounds, do not join

  • Chain 2 
  • Round 1: Work 6 sc in first chain
  • Round 2: 2 sc in each sc around - 12 st
  • Break yarn, leave tail for sewing on

Corn Dog Coating:
Work in continuous rounds, do not join


  • Chain 2 with light gold
  • Round 1: Work 6 sc in first chain
  • Round 2: Work 2 sc in each sc around - 12 st
  • Round 3: *2 sc in next st, sc in next st, rep from * around - 18 st
  • Round 4: *2 sc in next st, sc in each of next 2 sts, rep from * around - 24 st
  • Round 5: change color to dark gold, sc in each sc around, BLO -24 st
  • Sew veggie dog round to top center
  • Rounds 6-12: sc -24 st
  • Round 13:*sc2tog, sc in each of next 2 sts, rep from * around - 18 st 
  • Round 14: sc - 18 st
  • Round 15: *sc2tog, sc in each of next 4 sts, rep from * around - 15 st 
  • Stuff
  • Round 16: *sc2tog, sc in each of next 3 sts, rep from * around - 12 st 
  • Round  17:*sc2tog, sc in each of next 2 sts, rep from * around - 9 st 
  • Round 18: *sc2tog, sc next st, rep from * around - 6 st 
  • Break yarn and sew up end

Stick:

Work a small rectangle 12 stitches wide and 4 rows long from tan yarn. Leave long tail for sewing.
Fold rectangle in half longways and whip stitch long bottom and long side. Slip your plastic cotton swap in your rectangle, if it sticks out any cut off excess. Sew stick to corn dog coating.
