Forest Folk Ears

These fun ears are great cosplay or LARP. 

Whether you are an elf, ogre, halfling, Jedi knight, or even a Japanese demon  

they will have you covered.  

Match them to your skin tone or any fun shade.

I have made these in almost every skin color, green, blue, and even grey.

What you need:

Worsted weight acrylic yarn
in 1 or 2 colors

Size I (5.5mm) hook

Yarn needle

Scissors
Pins (optional)
Jump rings and pliers (optional)

Ears:
make 4

• Chain 15
• Row 1: Skip first chain and sc across, chain 1 and turn -14 st
• Row 2: Sc across, chain 1 and turn -14 st
• Row 3:  Sc2tog, sc 12, chain 1 and turn -13 st
• Row 4: Sc across, chain 1 and turn -13 st
• Row 5: Sc2tog, sc 11, chain 1 and turn -12 st
• Row 6: Sc across, chain 1 and turn -12 st
• Row 7: Sc2tog, sc 10, chain 1 and turn - 11 st
• Row 8: Sc across, chain 1 and turn -11 st
• Row 9: Sc 10
• Finish off and weave in ends

Place two ears back to back and sc around edges.

On second set be sure to reverse direction of sc.

 Headband:

Work in ear color or any color that strikes your fancy.

If you are going to wear ears without a hat you may wish to work the headband in your hair color.

• Chain 46 leaving a tail of yarn about 18 inches
• Row 1: 1 dc in 2nd ch from hook & remaining sts
• Row 2: ch 2, turn, dc in each st across
• Finish off and leave tail about 18 inches

Ties:

Cut 18 pieces of yarn about 36 inches long each. 

Thread 9 pieces through each side of headband and braid.

Assembly: 

If you have a wig head place headband on head and sew ears in desired place.

If you don't own a wig head stand in front of a mirror wearing headband. Carefully pin ears in place then remove headband and sew on ears.

Large jump rings work well if you wish to embellish your ears with earrings. Jump rings are great because they won't fall out.
