Beats me why I wanted to make a beet.
I don't even like them.
What you need:
Worsted weight acrylic yarn
in green and dark red
in green and dark red
Size F (3.75 mm) hook
Polyester fiber fill
Yarn needle
Clip to keep place
Scissors
Work in continuous rounds
Stem and Leaf:
Chain 25
Sc 10
tie off and weave in top end
With green- hdc around the top portion of the stem
chain 1 turn
3 hdc in each hdc
finish off and weave in green ends
With the tail from the starting point of the chain sew to top of beet.
Repeat till you have the number of leaves desired.
- Chain 2
- Round 1: Work 4 sc in first chain
- Round 2: 2 sc in first sc, sc, 2 sc in next stitch, sc - 6 st
- Run tail of yarn through hole and onto the outside
- Round 3: 2 sc in first sc, 2 sc, 2 sc in next stitch, 2 sc - 8 st
- Round 4: 2 sc in first sc, 3 sc, 2 sc in next stitch, 3 sc - 10 st
- Round 5: sc in each sc around -10 st
- Round 6: 2 sc in first sc, 4 sc, 2 sc in next stitch, 4 sc - 12 st
- Round 7: *2 sc in next st, sc in next st, rep from * around - 18 st
- Round 8: *2 sc in next st, sc in each of next 2 sts, rep from * around - 24 st
- Round 9: *2 sc in next st, sc in each of next 3 sts, rep from * around - 30 st
- Round 10: *2 sc in next st, sc in each of next 4 sts, rep from * around - 36 st
- Round 11-12: sc in each sc around - 36 st
- Round 13: *Sc2tog, sc in each of next 4 sts, rep from * around - 30 st
- Round 14: *Sc2tog, sc in each of next 3 sts, rep from * around - 24 st
- Round 15: *Sc2tog, sc in each of next 2 sts, rep from * around - 18 st
- Round 16: *Sc2tog, sc in each of next 1 sts, rep from * around - 12 st
- Stuff firmly
- Round 17: sc2tog around - 6 st
- Sew up end and weave in ends
Stem and Leaf:
Chain 25
Sc 10
