Brains!

I think you all should take a vacation on the Brain Slug planet...



What you need:
Worsted weight acrylic yarn
I used Red Heart Super Saver in Spring Green and White
Size 7 (4.5mm) hook
Clip to keep your place
Yarn needle
Scissors
(1) 6mm safety eye
Headband or clip (optional)


Work in continuous rounds
Body:
  • Chain 2
  • Round 1- Work 6 sc in first chain
  • Round 2- Work 2 sc in each sc around - 12 st
  • Round 3- *2 sc in next st, sc in next st, rep from * - 18 st
  • Round 4- *2 sc in next st, sc in each of next 2 sts, rep from * - 24 st
  • Round 5-13- sc
  • Round 14:  *2 sc in next st, sc in each of next 3 sts, rep from * -30 st
  • Round 15-18: sc
  • Round 19: *2 sc in next st, sc in each of next 4 sts, rep from * -36 st
  • Finish off and cut off end
 

 Eye:
  • Chain 2
  • Round 1- Work 8 sc in first chain
  • Cut off end and thread into body
  • Set safety eye in middle of white circle
  • Use left over tail of white yarn to secure eye to body


Bottom: 
  • Chain 2
  • Round 1- Work 6 sc in first chain
  • Round 2- Work 2 sc in each sc around - 12 st
  • Round 3- *2 sc in next st, sc in next st, rep from * - 18 st
  • Round 4- *2 sc in next st, sc in each of next 2 sts, rep from * - 24 st
  • Round 5:  *2 sc in next st, sc in each of next 3 sts, rep from * -30 st
  • Round 6: *2 sc in next st, sc in each of next 4 sts, rep from * -36 st
  • Do not tie off
  • stuff body
  • sc bottom to body of slug
  • finish off and weave in end

 Antenna:

Cut 3 pieces of green yarn about 8 inches each.
Thread through head and braid each side to desired length.
Tie off and trim ends.

There you go, your own Brain Slug.
Sew to a clip or headband so you can wear your geeky goodness.
