Frilly Sweater Dress

My niece got a American Girl doll for Christmas which got me very excited. My mom and I both love dolls and making doll clothes. I rushed over to my parent's house and picked up my AG doll and got to work.
 
I dub this month 18 inch doll month. Look forward to lots of little patterns.



What you need:
 Worsted weight yarn
H (5 mm) hook
Scissors
Yarn needle

Dress:

Worked in sc. Chain 1 at start of each row and sl st to join rows.
3.75 sc = 1 inch
Do not cut yarn between color changes.

With pink chain 41, slip st to form ring.
Rows 1-2: pink
Rows 3-4: black
Rows 5-6: pink
Rows 7-8: black
Rows 9-10: pink
Rows 11-12: black
Rows 13-14: pink
Rows 15-16: black
Rows 17-18: pink
Rows 19-20: black 
Rows 21-22: pink
Rows 23-24: black
Rows 25-28: pink

Finish off and weave in ends.

Top Ruffle:

Lay dress flat. Join black yarn and hdc 10 st in the center front top.
Chain 2, turn, 3 dc in each hdc.
Weave in ends.

Bottom Ruffle:
Join black yarn, chain 2 and hdc around bottom edge. sl st to join.
Chain 2, work 2 double crochet in each hdc, sl st to join.
Chain 2, work 2 dc in each dc, sl st to join.
Break yarn and weave in ends.
